Frequently asked questions

What kind of sugar do we use?

We use only raw sugar in all of our products. Raw sugar is minimumly processed sugar that still retains minerals and molasses. It is also called Turbinido, Demerara and a few other names.

What kind of flour do we use?

We use whole wheat pastry flour in all of our products. Lately, in making the crust for our bean pies, I’ve been adding a cup or so of whole wheat flour to add strength to the crust. Ideally, I like purchasing whole wheat sifted and pastry flour from Muhammad Farms in Bronwood GA. This flour takes our products to another level.

Do we have a store front?

No we do not, not at this time.

Where do you bake?

We bake at a commercial kitchen in Mesa AZ, that is shared among bakers, chefs and other food entreprenuers that are members of Local First Arizona.

Do you deliver?

Yes we do. This has been our model from the beginning when I was baking at home. We deliver to customers in Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Phoenix, Avondale, Glendale, and Scottsdale.

What are your hours?

Sundays starting soon, you will be able to come to the Garden Market between 12pm and 4pm to purchase baked goods.

Monday I am baking all day, so we are closed.

Tuesday I am making deliveries between 10:30am and 6:30pm. You can pick up items between 10:30am and 11:30am

Wednesday I am making deliveries between 10:30am and 6:30pm. If I have more to deliver.

Thursday I am baking all day, so we are closed.

Friday I am making deliveries between 10:30am and 6:30pm. You can pick up items between 10:30am and 11:30am

Saturday I will be at one of the Markets usually between 9am and 1pm.

Are your products gluten free?

No. We use whole wheat flour. However, if you request gluten free. I will use oat flour to make your baked goods.

Do you have vegan products?

No. However, I have substituted four (4) products to make them vegan. They are bean pie, pound cake, ginger snap cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies.

How do I order your products?

You can go to the website www.soldiersbakery.com under the menu/shop heading and order and purchase your items or you can call 602.774.1137 tell us what you would like to order and pay for it by card over the phone.

Do you offer any services?

Yes I do. I offer a Continental Breakfast Catering Service to businesses, organizations, associations, etc. for their morning meetings, etc. I also offer Baking and Cooking Classes to customers and other individuals who would like to learn how to prepare vegetarian cusisine. Lastly, I am offering a Vegetarian Mastermind Circle to teach individuals how to become vegetarian for life. You can learn more by visiting our website www.soldiersbakery.com .
